20 Reasons to Rock LinkedIn, How It Can Help Your Job Search or Your Business - Part 2

Updated: Jul 5, 2022

If you missed Part 1 you can find it here

So now let's take a look at the next 5 reasons on why you should be on LinkedIn and what you are missing if you are not.

#Reason 6: LinkedIn is the Best Platform for Engagement

To be effective on LinkedIn you don't necessarily have to create your own posts, you can also actively engage on other peoples posts, make very relevant and interesting comments and people will read and reply to them. This way you can quickly be noticed and appreciated by people who find your contributions informative and interesting.

#Reason 7: You Meet Real People with Real Names

Unlike other platforms, people tend to use their real names on LinkedIn as opposed to aliases. This is because recruiters and job hunters scout for talent and knowing your real name is important. This also makes it easier to trace old business buddies and colleagues from school. You are more likely to meet genuine people with their real names on LinkedIn.

#Reason 8: It's a Great Place to get Headhunted and Hired

LinkedIn is a platform for professionals in different fields and industries. Its a meeting place for employees and recruiters, as well as companies. Professionals can showcase their education, skills, experience, and achievements on their profiles which are seen by recruiters. LinkedIn is the first place people check for professional history and information about an individual. That's why it is easy to get headhunted on LinkedIn and also why it is important to have a comprehensive and up to date profile.

#Reason 9: Its also a Great Place to get New Business and Create Alliances

Birds of the same feather flock together - or so the popular saying goes. There are several communities on LinkedIn and it is easy to locate interesting people to connect with by industry. In the same way, you can follow businesses and connect with business owners. There are boundless opportunities to collaborate, you just have to explore and make the best use of opportunities as they present themselves.

#Reason 10: You Can Build Genuine Relationships

Because the engagement level on LinkedIn is high, and people use their real names it is actually easier to build genuine relationships. If you have been reading and engaging on a particular person's post over time you would have developed both the interest and a rapport with the person. Many connections have taken the relationship offline and had physical meetings. LinkedIn local which is independently hosted by individuals has also provided an avenue for members of the platform to physically meet.

I hope this has convinced you to get on LinkedIn if you are not already there.

LinkedIn has always been where Telents get to meet opportunities. However, it has evolved from "what you do" to "How you do". A good pitch on how you do things would get jobs running to you.
